The International Facility Management Association - Trinidad and Tobago Chapter (TTIFMA) in collaboration with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Trinidad & Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI) presents: THE LIFE CYCLE OF A BUILDING - A Caribbean Facility Management Forum and Exhibition centered around the built environment.

EVENT OBJECTIVES

This event is a one day educational, professional development and exhibition event, featuring both international and local speakers, experts in their field who will facilitate workshops, and panel discussions representing the various aspects of the building life cycle.  The event is carded for December 8, 2016.

The objective of the Forum is to provide a learning opportunity that would emphasize the critical role all services play within  The Life Cycle of A Building:  from the first day of construction to commissioning of the building and its related assets/ equipment.  The quality of life a building depends on the how well it is cared for or maintained throughout its life span to ensure the investment is preserved.

There are many services that contribute to the Life Cycle of a Building from design and construction to facilities maintenance management.  The engagement of the various services that contribute to the life cycle process is the focus of this Forum:

  1. Architectural Design Services – Trinidad & Tobago Institute of Architects

  2. Construction Services – Trinidad & Tobago Contractor’s Association

  3. Project Management Services – Project Management Institute Southern Caribbean Chapter

  4. Sustainability – Trinidad & Tobago Green Building Council

  5. Engineering Services ( Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing – MEP) – Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Industry Association

  6. Facilities Management Services – TTIFMA, Pest Management Association of Trinidad & Tobago

  7. Real Estate Services – Association of Real Estate Agents

  8. Financial Services – Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago

  9. Risk Management – Trinidad & Tobago Risk Management Institute

The above member associations of TTCSI integrate almost seamlessly with the building life cycle and more so with the eleven (11) core competencies of facilities management as identified by IFMA.
